A spacious and airy structure uses the rock face as it’s back wall. With comfortable seating areas and a large dining area the views looking back to the mountains are breath taking. Just below this sits a swimming pool that overlooks a beautiful waterhole, whilst commanding incredible views of Mount Uarges, one of the seven sacred mountains of the Matthews Range.
The Tents
Sarara Tree has six tents (all of which can be configured to be either double or twin) built on platforms in the canopy of the forest each with an ensuite bathroom (lavatory and hand basin) and an adjacent shower open to the skies within Sarara style walls. Every tent has a deck with a seating area by day that can also be a stunning star bed by night. Raised walkways through the canopy connect the tents to the reception area.
Family Tents
The family tents at Sarara Tree comprise of two tents that are close together (not interconnected) and work well for families with younger children (8 years and above). One tent is a double and the other a twin which is a slightly smaller tent. Both are ensuite (lavatory and hand basin) with an outside shower open to the skies within Sarara style walls.
“My husband and I stayed at the Sarara Treehouses for two nights during our honeymoon. This was definitely a highlight of our trip! The camp is run by an awesome couple who immediately made us feel at home. Our guides were members of the surrounding Samburu tribe. We loved learning about the Samburu people and their way of life. Highlights included visiting a Samburu village, walking to visit the Singing Wells, and beading with some women from the village. The service at the camp was excellent. We hope to be back some day!”
