The hub of the house is a large and beautiful sitting and dining room with an open fireplace. Large picture windows frame the beautiful Laikipia landscape stretching out in front of Ol Malo House. The cosy and comfortable sitting area is decorated with earthy Samburu tones that features the work of the Samburu beading project that Ol Malo oversees. Returning from an evening game drive the roaring fire entices you to sit back and relax.

A large covered open area with a sitting room and bar overlooks an infinity pool. Lunches are often served in this cool, airy building. Off to the side there is a cleverly designed barbeque area that has made for many a good evening. If only those walls could talk.

The House

The main house has three ensuite bedrooms, two doubles and a twin, with magnificent views across the time-honored lands of Kenya’s Northern Frontier District.

Crocodile & Hippo Cottages

On either end of the house there is one separate cottage. One has an ensuite bedroom (Crocodile) and the other has two ensuite bedrooms with a shared living area (Hippo). These two buildings provide another three bedrooms making Ol Malo House ideal for bigger groups travelling together. If the house is not booked on an exclusive basis, two separate bookings can be accommodated.

This is all about the view from every room. Almost ceiling to floor windows overlooking a tree-peppered valley with the the odd volcanic kopje, up to the mountains in the hazy distance. This is a beautiful luxury house set into the hillside in a rocky wilderness shared with only the odd Samburu herdsman.
