House in the Wild Activities

July 22, 2019

Sundowners – on the edge of the hill, watching the sky change colour and the sun set over the plains, with a gin and tonic in hand.

Bush Breakfasts after a morning game drive.

Guided Walks within Naretoi to get to know some of the things you may miss on a drive like the local flora, identifying tracks and spoor and of stretching the legs, recommended going out for 1 or 2 hours, suitable for the whole family with children over 7.

Tennis – there is a tennis court with balls and rackets provided.

Local School Visits – why not pack a few extra pens, pencils, footballs or things you might be looking to throw away and we can donate these to the local school children of the Emarti Village.

Farm activities  and visits to the local cattle market.

Fishing in the Mara River – have a go after a morning game drive or over sunset on the edge of the Mara River fishing for catfish.  If you catch it, take a picture and release it!

Garden games – croquet, garden boules, rugby balls, board games.

Visit to the Mara Training Centre founded by Tarquin and Lippa Wood, to learn about rangeland management and their efforts to work with local communities to restore and maintain the natural environment through Sustainable Rangeland Management (www.maratrainingcentre.com)

Visit the Wood’s indigenous tree nursery and spend a morning planting trees in their river bank restoration project (upon request), fly home guilt free about your carbon footprint!
